Morven Construction was incorporated in 1984 as a family business. Though the company has grown and the industry has changed, Morven remains a family-owned business to this day.

Over the years, Morven has expanded from its initial focus on heavy civil sewer water main construction and repair to include the complementary range of services offered today, including heavy civil development and restoration as well as the design and execution of parks and recreational complexes.

Morven’s core values remain unchanged. Client-centred service and excellence at every stage of a project are still priorities. It’s this drive toward the exceptional that sets them apart. Their steadfast success hinges on a simple and subtle duality: they’re dedicated to staying on-top of industry trends and planning and executing projects that many others consider too technically challenging, but they also recognize the importance of consistency, which is how they continue to nurture honest and open relationships with their clients and employees.

It’s paid off. Not only has Morven been the force behind some of most acclaimed projects in Eastern Ontario, but they have a client base that goes back decades, and employees who’ve worked with them from the beginning.

In 2015, original owner Rene Doornekamp handed the reigns to Murray Aitken, long-time member of the Morven family. Active in the industry on and off-site, both Murray and Rene are past presidents of the Kingston Construction Association (KCA) and still serve on various committees in the construction field. Rene continues to work with Morven, managing projects and lending his expertise.
